By in Boracay Travel Guide

When we think of the world-famous Boracay, it’s always the white powdery sands, clear seas, and blasting beach parties that come to mind. But not everyone is in a party mood all the time. Sometimes, what we seek is a tranquil beach getaway in this stunning slice of paradise, and what we just need is to find a spot away from the bustling crowd. In this article, we’re listing down beach areas in Boracay where you can get your much-needed rest and relaxation.

Diniwid Beach

Considered as one of the best areas in Boracay, Diniwid Beach is located just past Station 1 of White Beach. There’s a big cliff that separates the two beaches, making most tourists think that Station 1 is the end of the beach strip. Because of this, Diniwid Beach still maintains a calm atmosphere despite being so close to the highly popular White Beach. To reach this secret surreal place, beachgoers can take the small path carved on the edge of the cliff.

One would not believe that this quiet spot existed alongside a bustling beach strip. The laid-back Diniwid Beach is a hidden gem along the coast where tourists can truly have a relaxing beach experience. Snorkeling is also a great activity to enjoy here as the views under the sea are just so beautiful because of the fishes and corals in this area.

Diniwid’s serene atmosphere has also made it a prime location for private villas in Boracay.

This pristine beach is found on the northeast coast of Boracay. Tourists rarely go to this area as it is too far from the usual beach spots. Yet, that does not discount the fact that this is tranquil area is worth a visit. A real gem if you’re looking for a peaceful escape.

Upon arriving at the coast of this beach, one would be surprised with Ilig-Iligan’s raw and rustic beauty. The area is void of any commercial development aside from a handful of eateries here that serve local food, as well as paid restrooms that tourists can use. If you’re feeling more adventurous, there’s also a secret beach right next to this area which is much more rugged and wild.

The sand in Ilig-Iligan is fine and the water is clear and pristine. Although windy during Amihan season (the northeast monsoon), it makes for a great snorkeling spot when the water is calmer.

Situated at the east coast of Boracay, between barangays Manoc Manoc and Bantud, and just a few meters off the jetty ports, Tambisaan Beach is one of the underrated spots in Boracay. This area is considered by many as one of the best snorkeling spots in Boracay as its waters are blessed with colorful marine biodiversity. Tambisan also serves as a jump-off point to Crocodile Island, just off the shore and known as one of the best diving spots in Boracay

If you’d rather relax instead, Tambisaan’s pristine beauty and calm atmosphere are also perfect for basking in the comforts of nature. About 500 meters long, the beach is fringed by swaying coconut trees and a few cottages. A distinctly charming area with an authentic local island vibe.

Found on the secluded northern coast of Boracay, Balinghai is a small beach under a cliff that is best visited during the low tide season.

This spot has a private beach owned by a resort in the area. Tourists who are booked elsewhere can still enjoy this serene location by paying a fixed day rate that allows them to swim, lounge in sunbeds by the beach, dine al fresco or partake in watersports like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.

Its powdery white sand beach is also ideal for leisurely strolls where visitors can marvel at the rock formations along its rugged coastline.

Puka Beach

Puka Beach is named after the abundance of puka shells in its vicinity. The beach is fronted by a big forested cliff which gives the area a more private and serene atmosphere. The sand, while not as powdery as that of White Beach, is still smooth even if the texture is made up of crushed shells.

The far-left end of the 800-meter beach is its most quiet and untouched area. Here you’ll find a wider sandy patch and more greenery, perfect for quiet picnics.

While the pristine waters of Puka beach is great for swimming, it also has a quick drop off in depth, making it suitable for more serious swimmers.

While in the area, you can also visit the nearby Bil-at beach to the right, which connects to Puka during low tide.

Late afternoon visitors will be treated to an uninterrupted sunset view, easily one of the best spots on the island.
