The Best Areas in Boracay: Where to Stay and What to Expect

By in Boracay Travel Guide

Boracay is one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippine archipelago. Its powdery white sand and azure waters have made this tropical paradise a favorite among beach-lovers from all over the world. Being so popular among locals and tourists especially during the summer, the island is teeming with world-class vacation villas, resorts, five-star hotels, and hostels.

With so many accommodation choices available in almost every corner, choosing where to stay can be a bit of a challenge. By knowing which area of Boracay is best for you, your interests, and your budget, you will be able to narrow down your options. In this article, we’re listing down Boracay’s best areas to help you decide where you want to stay when you visit the island.

White Beach – Station 1

The most popular area of Boracay is definitely White Beach. Since this area is a long beach strip, it is divided into stations 1, 2, and 3. Station 1 is known for the good selection of luxury accommodations available in the area. This is why Station 1 is an ideal location for those looking for sophisticated high-end accommodations in Boracay. The atmosphere here is also calmer compared to its neighboring station which is why it is also a great choice for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Families traveling with kids would also enjoy the safe and shallow beach of this station.

White Beach – Station 2

Located at the center of White Beach, Station 2 features a lot of dining, shopping, and nightlife options which truly make it the heart of this popular Boracay beach. This area is where you’ll find popular spots in Boracay such as the D’Mall, the biggest shopping center on the island. While beach parties are no longer allowed in Boracay, there are still lots of bars and nightclubs in Station 2 where you can get your fill of nightlife excitement. As for accommodations, the options available here are mostly mid-range hotels and resorts. Since it’s the epicenter of White Beach, this area is the most crowded among the three stations. But if your priority is to be conveniently located near a wide range of establishments, then Station 2 is an ideal place to stay for you.

White Beach – Station 3

Station 3 is the backpackers’ haven of White Beach. With so many affordable hotels and hostels available in the area, Station 3 is the best place to stay in if you’d rather spend your vacation funds on other activities instead of allocating a huge chunk of it just for accommodations. Among the three stations, this area has the deepest waters which make it the best station for swimming. Aside from having the most budget-friendly accommodations in White Beach, Station 3 is also the most peaceful area in this beach strip.

Bulabog Beach

For thrill-seekers who want to indulge in exhilarating water sports, then Bulabog Beach could be the perfect place to find your accommodation of choice. This area is the center of aquatic adventures and is frequented by a younger crowd looking for some adrenaline-fueled water sports to enjoy. Since it’s not located on the highly popular White Beach, this area is less crowded and accommodation rates here are much lower. This makes Bulabog Beach a place worth considering if you want more value for your money. White Beach is also just a short distance away if you’re looking for more dining, shopping, and nightlife options.

Diniwid Beach

Perhaps the most tranquil beach among all areas listed in this article, Diniwid Beach could be the perfect area for you to stay in if it’s peace and privacy you’re looking for. Just like Bulabog Beach, hotels in Diniwid offer significantly lower accommodation rates compared to those on White Beach. Diniwid Beach is also not as crowded and busy as White Beach, and more peaceful than Bulabog since it does not offer as many water sports. This place is also ideal for families traveling with little ones since it has a calm, shallow beach and a smaller crowd. Family-friendly activities such as snorkeling can also be enjoyed within its vicinity.
